Acupuncture

Horses respond really well to acupuncture. It doesnt hurt them and most will fall asleep during the treatment.  Acupuncture on horses works the same as in humans meaning disease is a result of an imbalance of energy, or Qi (pronounced “chee”). Qi is one’s life force or vital energy and the health of the body depends on the state of Qi. In more familiar terms, Qi exists in two opposite forms– Yin and Yang. Physiologically Qi flows throughout the body 24 hours a day through channels called meridiens to maintain the balance of Yin and Yang. When the flow of Qi is interrupted by any pathologic influence (virus, bacteria, trauma, pain, etc.), the balance of Yin and Yang is lost resulting in clinical signs of a disease state. Acupuncture balances this energy and heals disease. In Western terms, acupuncture can assist the body to heal itself by affecting certain physiologic and neurologic changes.

Acu-Taping

You have seen it on Olympic swimmers, football players and it wasn't going to take long to cross over to the horse world.

Acu-Taping is  Kinesiology Tape specifically placed along  meridians and muscles.

The tape lifts the skin off the muscles and allows better blood flow to injured/sore muscles, dispurses lactic acid and helps speeds up rehabilitation.

Used for sore muscles, tendons, shin sore horses, training support and more.

Cupping

Using special plastic suction cups they are 'sucked' onto your horses back over certain acupuncture points. Cupping removes any stagnation in the body and opens the meridians so that qi can flow freely. On the other, it also helps to rejuvenate certain meridians and organs that are not functioning at their best. From a scientific standpoint, cupping is known to help activate the lymphatic system, promote blood circulation, and is good for deep tissue repair.

Laser

A handheld cold laser is used on acupuncture points for sensitive/ young horses and horses that are needle phobic. Great for tendon rehabilition and healing scar tissue.

Acupressure, Massage, Bodywork

Remove tension from the muscles with stretches and finger pressure put on certian acupuncture/ trigger points.
